Publishing Articles

All you need to do to publish your article on Minimal is click the "Publish" button. That's it! Everything just works, out of the box.

But if you want to customize how and when people can see your article, you have a few additional options.

Scheduling for Later

Normally, articles are published immediately when you click the "Publish" button, but you can also schedule them to be automatically published at a specific date and time in the future.

To schedule an article for later, open the settings panel by clicking the ⚙️ icon in the upper-right corner of the editor. Inside, you will either see an option to publish immediate, or schedule for later.

If you choose the "At a specific time (scheduled)" option, you will see a calendar appear, where you can choose a specific date and time. After you choose a date, click the the "Update Settings" button at the bottom of the Settings panel to apply the changes.

Note that so far you have only picked the date and time you would like your article to be scheduled for. To actually schedule it for publication, you need to press the "Schedule" button at the bottom of the editor.

Once your article has been published at the date and time you selected, you will be sent an email confirmation with a link to your published article.

Making your article "Unlisted"

By default, articles are visible to everyone once they are published. Sometimes, however, you may want only certain people to see or preview your article before making it public. You can do this by setting the visibility of your article to "Unlisted".

To either make your article "Unlisted" or change it back to "Public" later, click on the ⚙️ icon in the upper-right corner of the editor. Inside, you will see an option to change the visibility of your article.

Selecting "Public" will make it visible to everyone (on the homepage, "Newest Articles" page, and potentially the "Popular Articles" page. If your article is in draft mode, it will only become publicly visible after you publish it.

Selecting "Unlisted" will cause it to be hidden from all other pages on the website. You can send the link to whomever you would like to see your article (once it has been published and is no longer in "draft" mode). You can switch it back to "Public" later, if you choose.

Enabling "Story Mode"

Story Mode gives your article a more sophisticated look, and is a great option for your long-form and narrative content. It adds a drop-cap to the first sentence of your article, and indents each paragraph, much like you would see in a book.

You can enable Story Mode on any article by clicking on the ⚙️ icon in the upper-right corner of the editor, toggling the Story Mode option, and clicking on the "Update Settings" button.

Selecting which blog to publish your article on

When you first sign up, you'll start out with only your personal blog, which can be found at All articles are published on your personal blog by default.

If you want to separate your articles by topic, you can create additional blogs (see "Creating Additional Blogs" for details on how).

If you have created additional blogs, you will see an option to select which blog an article appears on in the settings panel of an article. To change which blog an article belongs to, click on the ⚙️ icon in the upper-right corner of the editor and select the blog you want your article to be published to from the dropdown. Remember to click on the "Update Settings" button to apply the change.
